Join the West Chicago Park District during “Older American’s Month” for a FREE heart healthy lunch and presentation entitled “Meals for a Healthy Heart”.
Laura Barr from the U of I Extension will discuss healthy lifestyles which may decrease incidence of hypertension, and introduce the new guidelines for blood pressure released by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. The new guidelines were designed to identify and address hypertension sooner. Research shows a very clear link between high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, which can make a person twice as likely to suffer a stroke or heart attack.
Healthy West Chicago is providing a heart healthy lunch of fresh grilled chicken wraps, Napa salad, and fresh fruit salad.
